有关基/d/教的故事中（虽然这个名字来自于旧约的拉丁文译文，这个形象也是从其他的神话里来的），Lucifer本来就是上帝所有的天使中最美丽的一位，外貌明亮如同晨星，也是上帝最宠爱的一位。Lucifer为拉丁文，直译是“bring to light”。后来拒绝向神子下跪，带领1/3的天使反抗上帝，失败被扔进了地狱。
